Gisborne District Cricket Association’s women’s side play Ballarat association on Wednesday evening.
The match is at Maddingly Park, Bacchus Marsh, from 6.30pm.
Gisborne will be looking to bounce back after losing by 29 runs to Castlemaine at Newstead last week.
A brilliant 80 from just 46 balls by Tia Davidge was a match highlight, instrumental in Castlemaine scoring 8/144 c.c.
At one stage Davidge slammed three sixes from one over, which yielded 27 runs but the GDCA curtailed other batters successfully.
Castlemaine ended up scoring 8/144 c.c..
The GDCA side looked ready to launch a run scoring spree, only to see a superb leg-side stumping remove captain Brianna Woodburn for 19, and prolific scoring Kim Bessell was bowled for 11.
Gisborne finished up with 9/115 from 20 overs.
The match was live streamed from Newstead, lifting the profile of women’s cricket.
