FIDA Tigers eye back-to-back glory

Kyneton FIDA football players have officially set their sights on going back-to-back in 2026.

The Kyneton FIDA football players have officially set their sights on going back-to-back in 2026, building on the momentum that has defined their remarkable journey so far.

The Kyneton FIDA program was established to ensure that players of all abilities could enjoy Australian Rules Football in a welcoming, empowering and community-driven environment. The program is part of the statewide Football Integration Development Association (FIDA), which promotes fitness, fun, belonging and life skills for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Across recent seasons, the team has continued to grow in strength and confidence. Their hard work culminated in an extraordinary 2025 premiership, marking a milestone moment for the team and the broader KFNC family.

With pre-season training in full swing under the watchful eye of Peter Connor and Brandan Sliwczynski, the team energy is at an all-time high.

The Kyneton FIDA Tigers are determined to defend their title in 2026. The focus remains on continual improvement, skill development and strengthening their trademark teamwork and positivity, qualities that have made the Tigers one of the most respected teams in the FIDA competition.

Team Manager Kristy Torney said her players knew what it took to reach the top now.

“Their passion, resilience, and a love for the game is what is going to give them a second premiership,” she said.

“Going back-to-back in 2026 won’t be easy, but this group has the heart and determination to make it happen.

“We are incredibly proud of how far they’ve come, and we cannot wait to see what they achieve next.”

This year the club welcomes on board a new sponsor First Choice Care Solutions who are providing the team with new playing jumpers.

The KFNC extends heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who fuel the FIDA program and make each season possible. Special acknowledgment goes to:
