Kyneton business owner Rebecca Moore says her local Australia Post team had been friendly faces during the pandemic when she made the move to post online orders for Tea of Earth.
Now they’ve hailed her a 2022 Australia Post Local Business Hero, recognising her unique and valued connection to the local community.
“The continuing support and caring attitude at my local post office under such stressful circumstances pushed me to keep going when many income streams of my business disappeared,” Rebecca said.
When the pandemic hit, Rebecca had to take her business online and recently relaunched her tea brand with new packaging, website, online shop and whole new look.
“The local community has continued to support local business and with tourism from Melbourne increasing, things are looking up,” she told the Express.
“I have noticed with consumers that purchasing Australian-owned and made is becoming an important factor when making a purchase. It’s great to see support for Australian-owned small businesses!”
Tea of Earth was selected as one of 57 local Australia Post business heroes from nearly 1000 entries.
Kyneton residents will see Tea of Earth featured in a marketing campaign at their local post office as part of a prize package worth up $5000. Rebecca will also receive personalised sending offers and access to business coaching through Small Business Australia.
Rebecca launched her brand in 2016, after working for more than a decade with other tea companies.
“Tea of Earth started off at markets, now we have multiple income streams through wholesale, retail and teaching tea classes. We also have a online store,” she said.
Tea of Earth now offers 20 unique tea blends. The most popular being the award-winning Kyneton Breakfast and Gingerbread Rooibos.
People can purchase the teas online and from several retailers in the Macedon Ranges and Australia wide.
