Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to a home in High Street following reports a woman had been injured about 11.50pm.
Local police attended the scene and found the 46-year-old Kangaroo Flat woman unresponsive.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Two primary school aged children found in the home at the time weren’t injured.
A 44-year-old Junortoun man was arrested in Harcourt North just after 5am on Monday morning as part of this investigation.
He was arrested in a reservoir area just off North Harcourt Road.
The man remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
