Dragons back on top
Century makers were somewhat scarce in the GDCA on Saturday, but Malmsbury Cricket Club had two batters who reached the ‘ton’ and retired unbeaten. Dan Turner (at left) who scored 104 and Harry Tautkus who made precisely 100 for Malmsbury Gold are pictured after their feat at the Lancefield number 2 oval. Turner hit seven sixes and six fours, and Tautkus 13 fours and two sixes as the Berries rattled up a mammoth 3/323c.c. from 35 overs. The Tigers only managed 61 in reply in the Club North grade. There were two other century makers across the GDCA on Saturday. Sunbury Kangaroos vice-captain Corey Woodley was the last batter dismissed after making 103 in McIntyre Cup 1sts against Gisborne. He faced 204 balls. Romsey’s Paul Brady made an unbeaten 105 (seven fours, five sixes) in his side’s winning tally of 5/175 in McIntyre 2nds against Sunbury United at the Romsey number 2 oval.
