Kyneton Football Netball Club congratulates the Tigers’ players who have made the final cut to represent the Riddell League in matches against the Southern Football Netball League this weekend.
It’s five years since the Riddell League’s last outing against the Southern League.
The Kyneton Tigers were competing in the Bendigo League at that time.
Tomorrow (Saturday) matches are at RSEA Park at Moorabbin.
The Southern League will be looking to make amends for being beaten in extra time by Riddell at their previous encounter.
Kyneton’s sole representative in the RDFNL squad is strong defender Harrison Huntley.
The 2023 Bowen Medal winner, Daniel Toman (Woodend-Hesket) has been in top form again this season, and is the Hawks’ sole representative in the side.
Coach is Daniel Nolan (Wallan),with Justin Sherman (Romsey), Aaron Bray (Riddell) and Al Meldrum (Macedon) the assistant coaches.
Kyneton has five in-form players in the women’s football side – Teagan Ainslie, Jordan Savoia, Emily Williams, Marnie Love and Emily Gibson.
Scott Caton (Woodend-Hesket) is coach of the women’s side, with Kyneton’s Savoia and Natalie Korinfsky, and Hawk Lily Bromley the assistants.
Katie Clarke (Macedon) coaches the RDFNL’s senior netball side, with Teaghan Butler (Kyneton) assistant.
Kyneton has three players in the squad – goalshooter Claire Oakley, defender Laurie Bennie, and Tilly Shepherd.
The Under 19s football squad includes 10 players from Macedon in the final list.
The Kyneton Tigers has the in-form Angus Nolte, Lachie Thompson and Cody Young in the final 25 named.
Jason Cooke (Macedon) is coach, and will be looking to see if the young Riddell League combination can repeat the success from the last encounter against the Southern League.
Riddell League home and away matches resume on Saturday, May 18.
Kyneton will be at home to Macedon, Romsey play Lancefield, Woodend-Hesket wekcomes Walin unbeaten Riddell is at home to Melton Centrals.
