Members of the Castlemaine and Kyneton communities and music lovers everywhere are urged to get along to the inaugural ‘Live at The Camp’ music festival this Saturday evening.
The concert event at Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve is being held to honour the life of Castlemaine Football Netball Club Under 18 footballer Dallas Keogh-Frankling 12 months on from his death in 2023.
Dal absolutely loved his music and the club felt a concert like the famed gigs at the Camp by ACDC (1975-76) and John Farnham (1990) would be a fitting tribute.
With the support of Dal’s family and the backing of the Theatre Royal Castlemaine and Grand Trine Management, the club has worked tirelessly to make that dream a reality.
They are thrilled to have Castlemaine’s own Triple J Unearthed 2018 winner KIAN headlining, along with Gold Coast pop-rock-soul artist talent Logan.
The evening will also feature musical wizards Tentendo and YAOB, as well as the Castlemaine Idyll Band and 2023 Castlemaine Battle of the Bands winners punk-rock outfit Fryer.
Music fans of all ages are urged to jump online to secure their ticket, grab their deckchair and get along to the all-ages event.
Castlemaine Football Netball Club’s Georgia Banks said in addition to entertainment they would have a wide array of food vans set up along the avenue of trees alongside Barkers Creek under a canopy of fairy lights.
“We look forward to welcoming local favourites Elephant Rock Calamari, Klua Sathorn Thai, Barista 4 U, Dhaba Curry Truck, Taste of the Orient and Icecream Republic.
“We will also have special Live at The Camp merchandise on offer – featuring Dal’s number 8,” Georgia said.
“We want to provide a focal point for the anniversary of Dal’s passing, and to mark this with the sheer joy of being together and experiencing live music,” she said.
“We hope the community gets behind this special event and that it will continue to grow each year,” she said.

Profits from Live at The Camp will be paid forward into making this festival bigger and better each year.
The festival includes a key fundraising component, with proceeds from merch sales and donations provided to Dal’s family to spend on a cause of their choice in his name.
