I write regarding the news article ‘GisBus options expand’ (Midland Express, September 11).
The Gisborne Roads and Transport Group welcome the recent announcement by the state government for the expansion of weekend services for Gisbus.
We would like to thank our local MP Mary-Anne Thomas and our previous and current state governments for listening to our group and the wider community on the need for additional transport options throughout our growing town now and into the future.
The work by our group for additional transport options for the Gisborne district is now completed for which we would like to thank past and current members for staying the course over the last 13 years.
Of course this could not have been achieved without the support of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council in particular director Karen Stevens and her dedicated team over the journey.
