Hailing from Castlemaine and surrounds, Daisypicker band will make their first appearance at the brand new Shedshaker Taproom venue in Castlemaine on Saturday December 14 from 8pm.
Daisypicker will bring their gritty folk rock, driven by the fervent lyrical lens of love, longing and loss. The band’s dynamic instrumentation and enchanting vocals will make your heart ache and flutter.
Featuring Nadia Phillips (vocals and guitar), Jezabel Furlong (drums), Ezra Demchy (viola and vocals) and Caleb Green (bass), the band is Melbourne-based, regularly performing in live music venues like the Grace Darling in Collingwood, Mamma Chen’s in Footscray, Old Bar in Fitzroy and many more.
Late last year the band (formerly known as Nadia Phillips band) released Circle, an EP of endearing songs that bring together folk, rock and heartfelt melodies.
Blame it on Love explores deep hurt, Best Friend bounces along while examining that feeling of being let down, Circle and Softly Slowly tenderly explore requited love, Apple Orchard is a musical joy and Growing Pains resolves with energy and a cracking chorus.
“We are all looking forward to playing at the brand new venue, it is so exciting for Castlemaine and the local music scene,” Phillips said.
“We can’t wait to share some new songs with the audience – it’s the most rewarding part of live shows.”
Also taking the stage and originally from Castlemaine, is multi-instrumentalist Sascha Müller.
Müller has just released her debut album Myth of Quiet – a masterpiece that is sure to take you on a journey of self discovery.
Joined by the masterful Gene du Vergier on drums, the duo is set to explore the dark and hopeful and the bright and mysterious with their boundless curiosity and crafted song work.
Daisypicker will have tote-bags, cds and t-shirts for sale on the night to fund their upcoming album recording, so bring cash.
