Pickleball was incorporated into Riddells Creek Tennis Club’s activities in February last year, and the upsurge of interest has been much stronger than originally predicted.
Since sessions began on Tuesdays evenings, the club has had people aged from eight to 80 years participating in this fun, social game.
Last year the club obtained a grant from Macedon Ranges Shire Council to paint lines for four permanent pickleball courts on one of the tennis courts.
“Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in Australia and has really taken off at our club,” president Fiona Walker said.
“Players need little or no experience to play.”
