Having just his second start, the Liam Howley Kyneton-trained galloper Riozino showed plenty of courage to win at Warrnambool on October 16.

After finishing sixth at his race debut over 1600m at Kilmore on September 29, the four-year-old showed he appreciated the 2000 metres in the $30,000 Alan Pye Electrics Maiden Plate.

Ridden by Celine Gaudray, Riozino went to the lead at the 400-metre mark and defied all challenges to win by 0.4 of a length.

Riziono is raced by Tony Rider and started as a $12 chance.
