The in-form Liam Howley stable scored two impressive wins at Kyneton races on Friday.

Promising three-year-old filly Milos Filos and Broadhurst both won easily, much to the delight of connections and others who followed the Kyneton-based gallopers.

Having her sixth start, Milos Filos was ridden by Alana Kelly and started as favourite in the Woodside Park Stud Maiden Plate over 1206 metres.

Part-owner Guy Nelson, past president of Kyneton District Football Club, was elated at the performance of Milos Filos, and praised Kelly for her confident ride.

The filly had 2.75 lengths to spare from the well supported Upcharge.

Later in the eight-event meeting Broadhurst started as a $3.70 chance and won the Bet365 Same Race Multi BM56 Handicap with Declan Bates in the saddle.

The four-year-old had 3.5 lengths to spare at the end of 1862 metres.

Several top trainers, including Tony McEvoy, Danny O’Brien, Peter Moody–Kath Coleman and Gai Waterhouse had winners at the Kyneton meeting.

STATION ONE’S 10 CUPS

Station One, who won the 2026 Stony Creek Cup over 2100m on March 8 for Howley, has gone for a well-earned spell.

The seven-year-old took his grand record to 10 Cup successes, believed to be an all-time Cup winning record in Victoria with a dramatic victory at Stony Creek.

Jason Maskiell rode Station One, who was headed but fought on superbly to regain the lead in the shadows of the post.

Station One, who won the Kyneton Cup in 2022, has now earned over $568,000 in prize money from 52 starts, including 12 wins.

The remarkably consistent galloper has been placed well by Howley throughout his career, and was the horse who led the way for syndication ownership for Howley.

The very large group of loyal owners have enjoyed a splendid time in racing with Station One.
