Come meet the Kyneton Backyard Growers

Kyneton Backyard Growers gather each Sunday at the Kyneton Lion's Kiosk to give away free fruit and veg.

Every Sunday from 10am-12pm a bunch of locals gather at the Kyneton Lion’s Kiosk to give away free fruit and veg.

Kyneton Backyard Growers is a project of the Kyneton Transition Hub, which is an action group of the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group. At the weekly stall, you’ll find it being staffed by locals, people taking locally grown fruit and veg from the table, or others donating their excess produce for people to take.

Head down and see what the local growers are growing and eat some fresh fruit and veg. With only 2% of Aussies getting their five veg and two fruit intake per day, Kyneton Backyard Growers has the mantra of Kyneton Feeding Kyneton – the project is working to connect local growers to contribute to its weekly Sunday stall and share with the rest of the community.

At the moment leafy greens, Jerusalem artichoke, quince, rhubarb, sage, rosemary, parsley, pumpkins, zucchini and some lemons are coming to the stall. Follow the project @Kyneton.Backyard.Growers on Instagram and Facebook.
