Businesses nominated for the 2019 Mount Alexander Business Awards can now sign up for a mentoring session to help guide their entry.
Once nominated, the next step is for the business to complete an entry form by Monday October 7.
This year the council is introducing mentoring workshops to help businesses develop their business and marketing plans as part of the entry process.
The two mentoring sessions will be run by local businesswoman Kerry Anderson from KA Rural Enterprises and will provide businesses with the tools they need to complete their entry.
David Leathem, council’s manager of economy and culture, said Ms Anderson was a highly respected advocate for business with broad experience in the sector and an extensive knowledge and passion for rural communities.
“Local businesses will benefit from Ms Anderson’s previous experience in a number of regional business awards and her practical approach to strategic business planning and development,” Mr Leathem said.
The Mount Alexander Business Awards are run by Mount Alexander Shire Council in partnership with the Midland Express and Castlemaine Mail.
Business Mount Alexander, Maldon Inc, Maldon and District Community Bank, Workspace Australia and Good Earth Garden Supplies are all supporting the awards.
