Meet the market mutts

The 'Market Mutts' Dogs of the Kyneton Farmers Market 2022 calendar is available at this Saturday's market.

The fundraising team at St Paul’s Anglican Church has again been able to make ‘Market Mutts’ Dogs of the Kyneton Farmers Market calendar for 2022.

This was possible due to the generosity of local photographer Simon Griffiths who donated his time to take photos of 112 dogs!

Father Ian Howath recently left St Paul’s to take up a new position in Castlemaine as the parish priest. This calendar has special significance as it is the last of his fundraising projects for St Paul’s.

“It was a delight to preview Simon’s photos. Taken with sensitivity, capturing the love of owners and as always, a sense of fun. I know that this calendar with help all who see it remember the central and important value of dogs,” Ian said.

This year Simon’s photographs include owners too. Support for this fundraising project came from everywhere.

You will see much-loved pets, boodles and the dog trio Milly, Flossie and Kiki from two unique Piper Street businesses, Josette and Flophouse.

Market volunteers joined in to participate too. Dougal, a previous cover star is an October dog this year. Harley and Ellis feature too.

Market stallholders and their children feature in the calendar and Indie from Fat Magpie Farm made it on to the cover. ‘Paris’ from Divine Mushrooms stands out in her stylish pink coat.

Photos of grandparents, grandkids and owners feature throughout the calendar making many shots look like a mini family portrait.
Many people love bringing their dog to the market.

Outdoor (dog friendly) eating options all along historic Piper Street and the beautiful river walk to the botanic gardens make Kyneton a great destination for dog lovers.

The fundraising team is so excited to have made a calendar that reflects the strong sense of community enjoyed by everyone who loves local market shopping.

Come and have a look for yourself. Enjoy the delight of the 91 owners who will be seeing this fundraising calendar for the first time.

Buy a copy with the peace of mind that comes from knowing you are supporting a project that benefits the local community.

Kyneton Farmers Market is accredited with the Victorian Farmers Market Association and is held on the second Saturday of every month.

Meet the people who grow and make your food this Saturday, September 11 (8.30am – 1pm).
