Kyneton Bowling Club co-hosted the Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region Women’s Champion of Champions contest, along with Daylesford Bowling Club.
The Kyneton green ran extremely well given the week’s rains; a compliment to the club’s greens volunteers, whereas the Daylesford green was slow given its effect from heavy rains before the tournament.
Lancefield’s Ann Shipcott is the only women bowler from the Highland’s playing area who will progress through to play in the quarter finals to be played next Sunday at a venue to be advised, where she will continue to battle for the region title. In the quarter final she will play Michelle Tait from Ballarat Memorial Sports ‘BMS’ bowling club.
Ann Shipcott won her first match in the morning against Bungaree’s Fay Toohey before going on to win against Trentham’s Nancy Walsh in the afternoon’s second round matches.
In the Men’s Champion of Champion titles played at Sebastopol Bowling Club on Sunday, Gisborne’s Ethan Higgins along with Kyneton Bowling Club’s Craig Vincent won both their games and will progress through to the quarter finals, which will be played on Sunday February 13.
