Do you have broken household appliances or need some simple sewing repairs done?
Bring them along to the next Castlemaine and surrounds Repair Cafe on Sunday at the Castlemaine Community House (the old Continuing Ed building) 30 Templeton Street from 10am to 1pm. The building is behind the Town Hall and access to the Cafe is from the back door.
Small pieces of wooden furniture must be booked in advance. There’s an extra sewing machine so you can just come along and do your own sewing repairs or learn to sew.
When you attend the Cafe you will receive a form to fill out from the reception table. This is some personal details and the weight of your item, then whether it was repaired or not.
The Repair Cafe keeps records of weights of repaired things so there is a figure on what is being kept out of landfill. You also get a number for your position in the queue.
It’s first in, first served, so try to come early and you won’t have to wait too long. Forms are handed in at the exit table.
If the Cafe is very busy there’s a cut off at 12.30 so everything can be completed.
You can enter the Cafe from the rear door. Park at the back and come through the garden to the ramp.
All attendees must wear a mask and show evidence of full vaccination. Enquiries to Chris on 5470 5508 and if leaving a message, please also leave your number.
