Team Strang steps up

Team Strang members are raising money for a cause very close to their hearts.

At the beginning of August a group of Kyneton women got their heads together with a common goal of raising money for a cause very close to their hearts.

They joined the National Breast Cancer Fund ‘Step Up to Breast Cancer’ challenge where participants set themselves a target of 10,000 steps per day to raise money to go towards the charity.

“One of our own, much-loved local ladies, Nicole Strang, has been a pillar of strength in her fight with cancer for the past four years,” team member Jen Beachey said.

“Those around her witness her never-lagging bravery, strength and determination, and her ability to still, while fighting her own battle, give so much to those around her and contribute to our community.”

Jen said that in the process of raising funds for #TeamStrang, they had experienced an overwhelming level of support from the community and local businesses who were also facing their own challenges in these ever-changing times.

“It has been humbling to witness the momentum gathered in a local movement of selfless and heartfelt generosity from businesses who have opened their hearts to support Nicole and her team in raising money to fight cancer,” Jen said.

“People behind businesses like; Dame Yung, Fed, The Piper Street Food Company, Granite Hills Winery, Frankie+Mac, Real Home Foods and The Conversion Project have jumped on board and thought outside the box to back Nicole and her team to hit their $20k target.”

Nicole said the team had been blown away by the generosity of people who wanted to get behind them.

“We know how tough it has been, but it never ceases to inspire us, how incredible our local community and beyond is,” she said.
With only a few days to go Nicole and her team are reaching for their target to raise $20,000 and hope they can even beat their goal.
