Get those portraits ready

'Sue Likes to Connect' by artist Roz Avent, winner of the Maldon Portrait Prize 2018.

Get your skates on, or your brushes or camera at the ready because entries in the IBeHuman – Maldon Portrait Prize 2022 are about to be flung open.

Work can be submitted until January 4 and some of the conditions of entry are that artists and their subject matter must be living in Australia and works celebrating people living and working in the Central Goldfields area of Victoria are highly encouraged.

The Maldon Portrait Prize IBeHuman 2022 is a joint initiative of the Maldon Artist Network and the Edge Gallery.

The Maldon Artist Network is a group of artists who come together to share ideas and stage arts events, on a voluntary basis. Edge Galleries has recently established in Maldon and has generously offered to stage the fourth Maldon Portrait Prize.

The IBeHuman organisation and the HMR Foundation are sponsoring the very generous prizes for the Maldon Portrait Prize Exhibition.

Andrea Bianchedi, a philanthropist and entrepreneur, established both organisations. They were born out of a desire to do good for others, to create a melting pot for ideas, to foster and nurture interconnections and to support creative environmental, social and cultural projects, including the arts in all its forms. Although based in Italy, both organisations support international projects.

Maldon Portrait Prize IBeHuman will be presented in four exhibitions in the Edge Galleries in Main Street, Maldon.
