Fashions on the Field promises to be one of the real highlights at the 2026 Kyneton Cup Day race meeting on Wednesday, November 4.
Kyneton and Hanging Rock Racing Club events organiser, Lisa Evans, said the local club was gearing up for its annual number one race meeting.
The time-honoured Kyneton Cup meeting is wedged in between the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, and Oaks Day on Thursday.
Prospective Fashions on the Field entrants have a range of categories to consider at Kyneton.
They include:
# Farmer’s Wife Local Lady of the Day;
# Intimo by Brooke Lady of the Day;
# Max Potential Gent of the Day;
# I’m With Her Couple of the Day;
# Skinetc Best Millinery;
# Junior Race Goer of the Day; and
# Kyneton RSL Best Suited.
Judging of the Fashions on the Field begins at around 1.30pm.
Wednesday is a full day’s public holiday for Kyneton and surrounds with 3444, 3446 and 3458 postcodes to support Kyneton Cup Day.
There’s a free TAC shuttle bus from Kyneton Train Station, with a stop at Kyneton Post Office on the way to Kyneton racecourse.
Plenty of advance books from marquees have taken place, with some Cup Day attendees being annual regulars for this popular day at what is deemed the prettiest course in country Victoria.
For those who haven’t been to Kyneton races before, an enthusiastic welcome awaits.
Youngsters have not been overlooked — there will be a huge LEGO station to enjoy.
Music on the lawn is another drawcard.
