The Riddell League’s 2018 grand final may be over, with Diggers Rest premiers, but the independent tribunal conducted a very interesting hearings last week.
Riddell Football Netball Club went to the tribunal in support of its two players who were sent off during the tense second quarter of the grand final.
Top utility player Dylan Tarczon who was red carded (off for the entire match) pleaded guilty to tripping an opponent, and the tribunal issued him with a reprimand — apparently a red card did not match the offence.
Big ruckman-forward James Nolan received two weeks and two suspended for dumping Matt Medcraft (Nolan received a yellow card and was off the ground for 15 minutes).
Riddell is now challenging this penalty at a higher authority.
The Riddell club has acknowledged there are frustrations, and appealed to supporters to refrain from commenting on social media. The Bombers intend
to issue an overall statement once the process is finalised.
