Tankard for Hawks

The Hawks have announced Tankard as their choice to lead the club.

Woodend-Hesket’s new senior football coach is Ben Tankard who has been in charge at Macedon for the past two seasons.
The Hawks announced Tankard was their choice to lead the club on Thursday night.
He takes over the reins from playing coach Tom Carland, who put in a power of work over the past two seasons.
Tankard was also the Riddell League’s successful inter-league coach this season, and he has a good knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of opposition clubs.
The new coach believes the Hawks are poised to reach the finals, and he is impressed with the work the club has done off-field.
At the same time Tankard acknowledges that while the Hawks have a good selection of younger players on their list (their Under 19.5 side made the grand final) he sees the need for some selective recruitment as well. Tankard is pictured, centre, talking to his Macedon players.
