
Castlemaine District Cricket Association is now in full swing with all competitions under way for the 2023-2024 season.
A Grade and A Reserve sides contested one-day matches in round two competition last Saturday. The Women’s division kicked off their season on Friday night and the C Grade (Under 16) competition commenced on Saturday morning with one-day encounters. Highlights of the round were Newstead A Reserve batsman Sam Reece’s 73 not out effort, while Muckleford C Graders Jack Smith 3-2 and Chloe Butcher 3-9 were best with the ball. The CDCA Under 13 comp will also kick off this Wednesday. Results were as follows:
A Grade

Barkers Creek 9-232 (Bailey Henderson 64, Nash Robinson 45, Kalan Huntly 22 not out; James Cole 4-44, Daniel Peckham 3-31) defeated Muckleford 8-150 (John Watson 58, Daniel Peckham 27, Declan Slingo 25).
A Reserve
