Hot favourite Kyneton took out the Highlands division one bowls pennant grand final against Romsey by 21 shots today.

In ideal conditions at Woodend, Romsey began well but Kyneton methodically fought back to trail by a shot at half-time.

The favourites maintained the pressure in the second half and finished up with an all fours up 67-46 victory.

A very classy team was buoyed by an influx of quality players this season, setting a benchmark for other sides looking to be premiers in future years.

Romsey is still seeking that elusive first top grade premiership.

On Saturday at Lancefield, Woodend won the division two title 54-52 against Kyneton after trailing for most of the match; Kyneton’s second premiership came with a 64-55 margin against Mount Cottrell in division three.

Midweek grand finals take place on Tuesday.
