Kyneton District Soccer Club’s Miniroos Kick Off program, an introductory eight-week soccer program for those aged four to 11-year-old, has begun with new trainers.

After an expression of interest was sent out to the club’s Under 14 and Under 16 players, it received an overwhelming response from the young leaders.

These young people went through a screening process, attended the mandatory introductory session led by KDSC Vice President, Kate Kuyateh, and are now leading the Miniroos Kick Off soccer drills until the last session on Thursday, December 3.

This is part of KDSC commitment to its younger members, providing them opportunities within the club to grow as leaders not only in the club but off the field as well. Head down to Barkly Square Recreation Reserve every Thursday 4.45pm to 5.30pm to see the program in action.

The following are some snippets from their submissions: “When I first played soccer I was very nervous, but I immediately felt welcomed by everyone in the club, and I would like to help provide that same service to the young Miniroos who are just starting out…”

“I am dedicated, wanting to pass on my love, enthusiasm and skills of soccer. I love working with kids and would really like this opportunity.”
