Don’t leave dogs in cars!

Concerned resident, Kyneton

On my fire scanner last Saturday I heard Echuca Fire Brigade were called out to rescue a dog that had been locked in a closed vehicle for some time when the temperature was well over 30 degrees Celsius! The poor thing was lucky to be alive!
We hear too many cases like this and I wish to alert people in our region to the dangers of this but also to the resources and manpower used on such an effort when it is so simple to do the right thing and not leave pets in vehicles to begin with.
It seems like common sense but it seems like we continue to hear the same stories.
