With six rounds completed, there are still seven teams in the hunt for a spot in the 2026 Riddell League A-grade netball finals.
Top team Wallan is the only unbeaten contender, and sixth and seventh-placed Macedon and Kyneton cannot be ruled out.
In Saturday’s round, reigning premiers Woodend-Hesket came from behind with a sparkling last quarter to inflict the first defeat of the season on Lancefield.
Life member Kellie Duff took over the Hawks’ coaching duties in the absence of Ty Coppinger, sidelined for one match for rough conduct against Macedon in the previous round.
Woodend-Hesket prevailed 49-43 outscoring the home side 15-8 in the final term.
Emily Fitzgerald, Mackenzie Svendsen and Hayley Rogers were listed as the Hawks’ best, and Kaylia Stanton finished with 41 goals.
Mia Daly, Bella Collodetti and Shanae Brundell (25 goals) were Lancefield’s top three.
The Tigers won their B-grade match 71-29, with Tarnee Hammond landing 66 goals.
At Romsey, sixth-placed A-grade side Macedon led throughout for a convincing 59-41 victory, with Henrietta Donoghue on target with 49 goals. The Redbacks are still seeking their first win this season.

KYNETON GOING WELL
Kyneton won four of its five matches on Saturday, and the A-graders seem revitalised with the inclusion of star defender Kristiana Manu’a and Ellie Bird, who threw 65 goals in the 69-48 victory over Melton Centrals.
Bird, with fine credentials in New Zealand and elsewhere, was Player of the Round the previous Saturday.
Fourth-placed Riddell went on a scoring spree in a percentage-boosting 96-35 performance against bottom side Melton South, and the Bombers go to Woodend this Saturday for a real test.
Amelia Haxby was in fine form again, Shelby Holter scored 46 goals and teenager Tilly Allen 35 to follow up her 37 in the earlier 19&Under match.
Second-placed Gisborne Giants had the bye and play Wallan this Saturday.
