If you’ve ever imagined gliding across the water with the breeze in your hair, Cairn Curran Sailing Club is ready to make that moment happen. This season, CCSC is offering a series of free, beginner-friendly sailing experiences designed to help people of all ages discover the joy of sailing.
Participants will be guided by trained, friendly instructors who will introduce the essentials — from rigging a dinghy to sailing around a course — all in a supportive, safety focused environment. Helmets, life jackets and equipment are provided.
Whether you’re curious about sailing or ready to build confidence at the helm, CCSC’s experienced instructors will guide you through the basics: learning the parts of a boat, rigging, launching and retrieving, understanding safety procedures, and sailing around a simple course. All equipment — including helmets and life jackets — is provided.
On October 25 and November 15, CCSC will host two dedicated Sail Our Way sessions for women and girls. These supportive, safe events offer a relaxed introduction to sailing, with plenty of encouragement and hands on learning.
The club is also running Discover Sailing Events on October 24 and January 30, 2027. After your sail, enjoy light refreshments, meet club members, and learn how you can continue your sailing journey.
“These events are all about giving people the chance to try something new in a safe, welcoming space,” said Andrew Keane from the club. “Bring your enthusiasm and we’ll help introduce you to the joys of sailing.”
