Countdown on to Kyneton’s biggest celebration

The much-loved fireworks will light up the sky on the Friday opening night.

The countdown is on to the 164th Kyneton Agricultural Show, with two big days of country fun coming to the Kyneton Showgrounds on Friday November 20 and Saturday November 21.

The Kyneton Show brings the community together to celebrate agriculture, country life, local talent and the people who make the region such a wonderful place to live. This year, the tradition continues with a packed program of old favourites, new attractions and plenty of free family entertainment.

Friday night will kick off the celebrations with the return of the spectacular stunt motorbikes, as the riders of Madstyle Moto take to the oval with their high-energy display. There will be plenty of free activities for families, live entertainment and, of course, the much-loved fireworks, lighting up the sky at 9pm to finish the night.

Saturday is all about celebrating the best of country life. Visitors can get up close to horses, sheep and wool, alpacas, dogs and poultry, cheer on the woodchoppers and explore the Farm Shed.

The ever-popular Life on the Land display continues to grow each year and is a must-visit for anyone interested in where our food comes from, agriculture and rural life. There will also be demonstrations, displays and activities for visitors of all ages.

For families, there is plenty to discover, with free children’s activities including the much-loved Country Parkour and the popular Woodworking Tent. New this year, the French Circus is coming to town – try your hand at spinning plates, climbing and balancing, in the free community area.

The Pavilion remains at the heart of the Show, showcasing the incredible creativity and talent of local exhibitors, with entries spanning baking, preserves, photography, art, craft, horticulture, farm produce and more.

Kyneton Agricultural Society president Louise Conron said the Show continued to grow while retaining the community spirit that had made it such an important part of Kyneton’s history.

“The Kyneton Show is so much more than two days on the Showgrounds. It is a celebration of our community, our agricultural heritage and the incredible people who give their time and talent to make it happen,” she said.

“We are incredibly proud of how the Show continues to grow, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our 164th Show.”

With something for everyone, the 164th Kyneton Agricultural Show is the perfect way to spend a weekend celebrating country life, community and the traditions that make the Show so special.
