Gisborne firies let their mo’s go

Gisborne Fire Brigade's (L-R) Bevan Moody, Tom Ruff and Joel Wood show off their mo' progress.

Things are getting hairy at Gisborne Fire Station.
Brigade members are ‘letting their mo’s go’ this month to raise funds and awareness for men’s health as part of Movember.
In a first-time team effort, Lieutenant Bevan Moody said the brigade had a target to reach $1000 by the end of the of month and were on track after reaching about $450 by Thursday.
“Movember is a great campaign supporting men’s health that members wanted to put their support behind,” he said.
“Individuals from the brigade have participated in the past but this is the first year that we have participated collectively as a brigade.”
About six brigade members have signed up for the challenge and say the most impressive mo’s at the end of the month are likely to belong to Ian Ward and Cameron Wood.
Funds raised through Movember go towards a range of men’s health projects including those with a focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Donations are accepted until the end of November and can be made via the following link: https://mobro.co/14049033
