Riddells Creek local Scott Trezise says we need a bit of positivity in the world at the moment, so he is calling for help to brighten the day of a teenager with a big ambition.
A Queensland teen named Jacob Mackay has Asperger’s syndrome and is keyring obsessed. He hopes to one day break the world record for keyrings and key chains (only 62,200 to go!).
Jacob’s mother put out the call on Facebook for help to add to his collection as a surprise for his birthday and the world began to respond.
Scott knows first hand the generosity of his friends and community, so he decided to reach out too.
“This young fella in Queensland is turning 16 in September and wants to break the world record for keyrings,” Scott said.
“I thought it would be a good cause that would take attention away from all the bad things happening at the moment, and to make someone else happy, makes me happy too.
“Anyone who wants to contribute either one or plenty can drop them off to my place or post them to me.”
Keyrings can be dropped off or posted to Scott at 16 Hamilton Street, Riddells Creek or can be dropped in to Rics Convenience Store in Main Road.
“I would like to send them all together from the Macedon Ranges community in one package by late August,” Scott said.
“I know it’s a few months away but I would like to surprise him with as many as I can.
“If you would like to send him a keyring from wherever you are in the world, that would be amazing.”
