Have you ever wanted to learn how to restore treasured antiques and give them a new lease of life?
A course on offer at the Macedon Ranges Further Education Centre can teach you just how to do that while you pick up a variety of woodworking skills.
The class covers everything from repairs to finishes.
This is just one of a wide range of interesting classes on offer at MRFEC.
From pottery to floristry, yoga to meditation, and language classes in Spanish, French and Japanese, the centre at Gisborne offers classes for almost any interest you may have.
Centre manager Monica Smyrek encourages people to keep active through learning.
“Learning helps increase self confidence and self-esteem, assists in building a sense of purpose and creates an opportunity to connect with others and form new friendship circles,” she says.
“We understand that people have busy lives and we have now started introducing one off and very short courses so people have more choices to get involved in something, perhaps learning a new skill or reigniting an old interest or hobby again.”
