The time-honoured Lancefield Agricultural Show is back again this Sunday, October 16, and woodchopping will be one of the many highlights.
Young Riddells Creek axeman Zac Giouzelis – pictured in action in the recent Stihl Timbersports Australian Rookie Championship where he gained a bronze medal – is among many of the notable competitors coming to the Lancefield Show.
Central Victorian Axemens Association is a long-time supporter of the Lancefield Show, with both men’s and women’s events on the program.
Lancefield Agricultural Society is excited to be able to stage the Show again after the disappointment of the COVID pandemic stopping this and other popular annual district community drawcards.
Organisers are thrilled to host a broad array of show exhibits and displays, with a busy program from 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
There will be various animals, including horses, cattle, sheep, poultry and the popular dog high jump. There’s homecrafts as well, plus specialist displays and entertainments.
This year entrance to the show will be confined to the main gate (Chauncey Street) of Lancefield Park and pre-entry tickets can be purchased. It’s FREE admission for the children so families from near and far are expected to be out in force on Sunday.
Show organisers are thrilled to have the support from many generous sponsors, and will also welcome some help from volunteers as the aim is to make the 2022 Show a real winner.
