Supermarket giant Coles has confirmed it has interest in Romsey.
A Coles spokesperson told the Express last week, “Along with sites all around the country, we are exploring Romsey as a potential location for a new Coles supermarket”.
“Coles is constantly evaluating our store network to ensure we are delivering the best shopping experience for customers.
“We’ll be sure to keep the Romsey community informed of any future plans for a local supermarket.”
The Express approached Coles following changes to Main Street’s commercial precinct and widespread community speculation.
Both Romsey Mowers and Blooming Produce recently relocated from their Main Street premises in the south.
Coles declined to indicate if it had located a specific site of interest.
