Two injured in Macedon crash

Emergency services attend the scene of a two-car collision on Black Forest Drive at Macedon last Monday.

Two drivers were treated for injuries at the scene of a crash on Black Forest Drive at Macedon that closed the road in both directions shortly after 2pm last Monday.

It is believed a 79-year-old female driver from Woodend exited the service station into the centre crossing and was involved in a collision with a north-bound vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle was a 23-year-old female from Hillside.

Paramedics treated both drivers for minor injuries at the scene. The 79-year-old driver was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital for observation and minor injuries.

Police closed Black Forest Drive in both directions for about one hour while the scene was being cleared. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police are investigating the incident.

Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol said the incident was a timely reminder for drivers to concentrate on driving, avoid distractions and not take their eyes from the road for even a few seconds.
