Thousands to flock in

The annual Lancefield Swap Meet and Car Show is one of the real drawcards in the Macedon Ranges, and it’s on again this Sunday.

This will be the 29th annual show and thousands are expected to flock to Lancefield Park, particularly if favourable weather conditions arrive.

Long-time Swap Meet coordinator, Pam Choate, said the meet had about 400 sites, a huge increase on its infancy years.

The drawcard event is the major annual fundraiser for Lancefield Football Netball Club, which has a bye this weekend.

Heavy rain arrived during last year’s meet, and the weather forecast will be eagerly watched in the lead up to the big day.

Judging of the immaculate cars, utes and motorcycles is scheduled for 11am on the main oval.

Some exhibitors are ‘regulars’ at the Lancefield meet, and thrilled if their vehicles are judged as best in their category, with the ‘Best in Show’ the prime award.
