Local talent on show

2023 Rotary Castlemaine Art Show People’s Choice winner Adam Weston with his eagle.

Rotary Castlemaine’s annual Art Show is on again across this King’s Birthday weekend, June 7-10.

One of the most common questions from visiting patrons is where they can lodge their People’s Choice votes?

Last year’s People’s Choice winner, Adam Weston, said he was very happy to get the recognition for his work.

“It gave me the confidence to expand my artistic horizons and try different things,” Adam said.

The proud owner of Adam’s striking eagle sculpture, Margaret, said the artist’s skill in creating the amazing eagle was impressive.

“Eventually, I’d like to see it in the Boorp-Boorp Boondyil Indigenous exhibition at Castlemaine Visitor Centre at the Market Building,” she said.

Patrons attending the 2024 Art Show receive a catalogue and People’s Choice voting slips. People’s Choice will be announced just before the show closing on Monday June 10.

The show is open at Castlemaine Town Hall daily from 10am across the King’s Birthday weekend, with a Gala Opening and presentation of prizes this Thursday at 7pm. Tickets for the Gala Opening will be available at the door.

Proceeds from the show are channelled into Rotary Castlemaine’s community support and charity work.
