Up close and personal with Elliot Goblet

Legendary deadpan comedian Elliot Goblet is appearing at the Northern Arts Hotel, Castlemaine, on Sunday.

Ever wanted to ask one of Australia’s funniest comedians the question you’ve always wondered about? Here’s your chance.

Up Close and Personal is unlike any comedy show you’ve been to. Part live performance, part candid conversation, the intimate evening features a special guest performing before sitting down for a relaxed interview – with the audience invited to ask questions too.

The next guest is legendary deadpan comedian Elliot Goblet (brought to you by Jack Levi), appearing at the Northern Arts Hotel, Castlemaine, on Sunday, July 12, from 6pm to 7.30pm.

What makes the show so different?

Limited seating means everyone gets a great view and the atmosphere is relaxed and personal. It’s a rare opportunity to be part of a small audience rather than one of hundreds.

No cameras allowed means what happens in the room stays in the room. Without phones recording every moment, guests can let their guard down, share stories, reveal behind-the-scenes moments and answer questions they might never tackle elsewhere.

One night only means exactly that. There’s no second show and no replay. If you’re not there, you’ll miss this unique opportunity to see Elliot Goblet up close and hear stories you won’t find on social media or YouTube.

The concept was launched at the iconic Radio Springs Hotel near Daylesford in late 2024 with guests including Marina Prior, Tony Martin, Richard Stubbs, David Bridie, Damian Callinan and Alan Fletcher. The response was so enthusiastic that the series is now hitting the road.

Whether you’re a long-time Elliot Goblet fan or simply love a great night of comedy and conversation, Up Close and Personal promises plenty of laughs, fascinating stories and a memorable evening in one of Castlemaine’s favourite venues.
