Rain, hail and thunder

The Kyneton women’s football team braved rain, hail and thunder to score a runaway victory over North Bendigo on Sunday.

It was the final match in the Transport Accident Commission round, which promoted road safety.

The wearing of blue armbands at weekend matches helped get the message across, in the hope of reducing the future road toll.

Kyneton dominated Sunday’s encounter at North Bendigo, and apart from off-target kicking for goal, had plenty of in-form players.

The Tigers scored 8.19 (67) to a solitary goal for the home side.

Goals were shared around, with Heidi Erasmus 2, and Maddy Stott, Ursi Van Dyk, Natalie Koringfsky, Neve Brissenden, Taylah Moore and Jordie Savioa all singles.

Tigers’ special awards went to Nikita Jamson, Jacinta Cochrane, Teagan Ainslie, Korifsky, Van Dyk and Erasmus.

A special thank you was conveyed to volunteers Wes, Luke, Eloise and Tyler.
