Both teams continued to strive for an edge in the second term with Castlemaine kicking another 3.3 and Strath 4.2 to hold a slender one point lead at half-time.
Storm clamped down on the Magpie forwards in the third stanza keeping them to just six points, while smashing through seven majors to blow the margin out to 40 points at the final change.
Castlemaine managed to squeeze another goal through in the early stages of the final term, but Strathfieldsaye kicked three more to put the result beyond doubt and win the match by 55 points.

The second quarter mirrored the first and Storm held a 63-point advantage by half-time.
To their credit, the Magpie defence managed to hold Storm to just four goals in the second half, but Castlemaine could only manage eight points of their own and eventually lost by 89 points.
