
Kyneton Bowling Club’s division 1 premiership teams from Saturday and midweek pennant are looking forward to playing in the Ballarat Highlands Region pennant finals.
This Sunday afternoon, March 15, Kyneton’s Saturday division 1 side takes on the strong Victoria (Ballarat) lineup in the regional final at Sebastopol.
On Tuesday, March 18, Kyneton’s division 1 midweek side plays Victoria, again at Sebastopol, with a 10am start.
The Kyneton club expects to have plenty of its supporters cheering on its sides as they attempt to win a place in the Staye Finals at Moama in April.
“The BHBR invites all club bowls supporters to come along and watch the best teams in the region battle it out,” Ballarat-Highlands secretary Wayne Morgan said.
Kyneton division 1 secured an emphatic 95-50 victory over Kilmore in the midweek division 1 final played at Lancefield on Tuesday.
Kyneton’s division 2 side also had a huge win, defeating Broadford 85-47.
Michael Bermingham 23 d Robert Chapman 23-20, Michael Plowman beat luke Gleson 32-10, and David Kennedy secured a 30-17 margin against Daryl Kelly.
This was Kyneton’s fourth premiership in Highlands this season — a tremendous effort.
The division 3 Tuesday grand final at Woodend was very close, with Diggers Rest beating Kyneton Golf 43-38.
Tricia Odgers (s) 13 lost to Josie Turner 21, Judi Higgins 30 d Wayne Turner 17.
