Blockbusters in the RDFNL

There are two absolute drawcard football matches in the Riddell League’s fourth round this Saturday.

The four unbeaten top sides are poised to put on a real show, with reputations as well as four points at stake.

Spectators and players alike will be hoping for fine conditions.

Last season’s runners-up Macedon is attracting large crowds already, and beating Riddell in a replay of the 2025 grand final on Saturday has given the Cats a further lift.

Now the formidable Diggers Rest combination is coming to Tony Clarke Reserve, fresh from a second half demolition of Riddell on April 18.

“We are ready” is the message from Macedon, so look forward to a really big clash with match winners on both sides.

AT KYNETON

The other big clash is at Kyneton Showgrounds, where the Tigers will be looking to combat a Wallan side that has finals ambitions.

The Tigers, coached by Ethan Foreman, initially beat Woodend-Hesket, then demolished Lancefield by 91 points on Saturday.

Ruck dominance and a sound defence may be important in this match.

In the other matches, Romsey is at home to Woodend-Hesket, Gisborne Giants will welcome Melton, and reigning premier Riddell is at home to Lancefield.
