Gisborne Golf Club reignited its annual Pink Day last week, the first one since 2023 after fire destroyed the clubhouse.
Pink Day is a fun golf day raising money for breast cancer research trials. Many members and regional locals turned up wearing something pink to support the charity.
At registration, fun elements included a ‘Mulligans pass’ to make up for one bad shot and the famous ‘Pink String’ which players can use to assist with one putt.
President Alistair Boustead welcomed guests, acknowledging nearly everyone is touched by someone with cancer.
Committee member and one of the key organisers, Sharon Kemp, spoke of the importance of supporting charities in cancer research.
They thanked all sponsors who supported the event, and committee members and staff who did work behind the scenes to make the event a success.
