Macedon Ranges Art Trail’s 2021 Spring Exhibition has pivoted to an online show.
Art Trail founding manager Nadine Hartnett said artists were facing challenges arising from being isolated from their audiences as galleries closed and onsite exhibitions were cancelled time and time again during the pandemic.
“Embracing new ways of exhibiting artworks sounds like a perfect opportunity for professional growth, but for many artists it eats into precious studio time and takes them away from doing what they love – making art,” Ms Hartnett said.
“The Macedon Ranges Art Trail aims to support local artists by promoting them and their work, and connecting them with other creatives and art appreciators both locally and worldwide.”
The Art Trail’s 10th exhibition is online until November 30.
This digital exhibition features work by many talented artists from the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas in regional Victoria.
Among the 26 artists exhibiting and selling their artwork are Gisborne’s Aimee Timpson, Bindi-Lee Byrne, Caroline Smyrk, Helen Cottle, Lesley Rosochodski, Sue Dilley and William Ritchie.
“This is the first time MRAT has presented an online exhibition,” Ms Hartnett said.
“It was made possible thanks to voluntary assistance from former group member and creative all-rounder, Lara Le Reveur, now living in Germany; current member Aimee Timpson; and local administration and technology whiz Irene O’Duffy.”
The exhibition features 81 artworks with all works for sale. There are plenty of affordable diverse 2D and 3D artworks starting at $15, and some artists are open to accepting commissions.
