Castlemaine Jazz Festival organisers are planning to hold a mini event this Saturday – ‘A Day of Jazz’.
The pop-up event will take place at The Village Square performing space in Frederick Street, Castlemaine, and will feature some of the artists who were to appear at this year’s jazz festival.
Artists to hit the stage will include the talented young musicians from Castlemaine Secondary College, The Maine Course, Harry Coulson’s Blue Dogs, Maggie Jackson NY Jazz, The Old Married Couple and King Stone.
Castlemaine Jazz Festival co-organiser Lyndal McClure said the festival committee wanted to bring a day of jazz to the local community after being forced to once again cancel its popular June event.
“With restrictions easing we wanted to have a day of celebration, a snapshot of our great festival and show our support for some of the amazing artists which would have featured in the event,” Lyndal said.
‘A Day of Jazz’ will kick off at 11am and run throughout the afternoon. Entry is free.
