A truck driver suffered significant burns after his truck caught fire at Kyneton last Tuesday.
Ten CFA brigades were called to the scene on Kyneton-Metcalfe Road as fire ferociously burnt through hay being transported by the truck.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours as emergency services worked to extinguish the blaze.
Flames spread to grass on the side of the road and towards the Calder Freeway.
The southbound lanes of the freeway were also closed for about 40 minutes as police directed traffic back to Burton Avenue and through Kyneton.
The truck driver, a man in his 30s, was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
