Holgate Brewhouse is tempting taste buds through a competition tapping into one of its most popular beers.
The Woodend brewery is offering a $500 prize pack to the most creative and delicious recipe starring Holgate’s Temptress Choc Porter.
Holgate’s Lucy Watson said the malt-driven beer was infused with Dutch cocoa and vanilla beans.
“It’s ideal for adding a depth of flavour to dishes – especially desserts and winter dishes like your stews,” she said.
Lucy began experimenting with new flavours to pair with the porter last year and wanted to share the fun.
“I did some cooking videos from my own kitchen. We thought it was fun and that other people could get involved too,” she said.
“Anyone can enter the competition. It’s about finding exciting ways to get creative with the Temptress Choc Porter. The more interesting the entry, the better!”
The Temptress was crowned Australian International Beer Awards Best Porter in 2015 and 2018. It has also caught the attention of celebrity chefs.
MasterChef 2021 winner Justin Narayan has tried his hand at the Temptress challenge and his recipe will get creative juices flowing.
Narayan created a “melt in your mouth doughnut” oozing with Temptress whipped ganache, coated with a Temptress glaze and topped with a dark chocolate crumb.
How to enter:
On social media (Instagram, Facebook or TikTok), share a reel, story, photos or video featuring a delicious recipe using Holgate Brewhouse’s Temptress Choc Porter.
Be sure to include the social media tags @holgatebeer and #temptresschocporter, or submit your recipe via Holgate’s website.
The Holgates team will judge the competition based on creativity and deliciousness.
The prize pack includes a case of Temptress Choc Porter, four pack of Empress Imperial Mocha Porter (limited release), four pack of Campfire Red IPA (limited release and 2022 AIBA gold medal winner), 500mL bottle of Imperial Stout (limited release and 2022 AIBA gold medal winner and trophy finalist), Holgate ‘Explore Beer’ beanie, and a 5L Chasseur Round French oven from Mort & Pestle.
Entries close Monday June 27 at 5pm.
